The G500 achieves 5,200 NM with NBAA IFR reserves at Mach 0.90 cruise — covering New York to Geneva nonstop. The cabin seats up to 19 in maximum configuration, with typical business layouts accommodating 13–16 in full stand-up comfort (6 ft 3 in height).

The Symmetry Flight Deck features ten large touchscreen displays and active control sidesticks — a first for Gulfstream. Active sidesticks provide tactile feedback and allow both pilots to simultaneously monitor control inputs, a significant safety enhancement.

The G600 has longer range (6,500 NM vs 5,200 NM) and slightly more cabin space, but costs approximately $10M more new. The G500 shares the same type rating and flight deck as the G600 — a key advantage for fleet operators. For buyers whose missions stay within 5,200 NM, the G500 offers better value per seat-mile.
