Three engines provide a meaningful safety margin on long oceanic crossings, enable a higher service ceiling (FL510 vs FL450 for comparable twins), and provide single-engine redundancy on long overwater stages. For operators flying Africa, Pacific, and Indian Ocean routes, the tri-engine safety margin is a genuine operational advantage.

The Dassault Falcon 900 type rating covers all 900-series variants. Training is available at CAE and SimuFlite for approximately $36,000. Two-crew operation is required. The EASy II avionics suite significantly reduces long-haul crew workload.

Approximately 4,750 NM with NBAA IFR reserves — competing directly with the Gulfstream G450 and Bombardier Global 5500. Covers Paris to New York nonstop or London to Singapore with one stop.

The Global 6000 has longer range (6,000 NM) and a wider cabin, at a significantly higher price. The Falcon 900LX offers tri-engine safety, renowned short-field performance, and lower operating cost (~$3,800/hr vs ~$4,500/hr). For operators whose routes fit within 4,750 NM and who value short-field access, the 900LX is the more economical choice.
