Falcon 2000LXS

The Falcon 2000LXS holds the record for shortest takeoff distance of any large-cabin jet: approximately 4,600 ft (1,400 m) at MTOW, with steep-approach landing capability down to 2,100 ft (640 m). It is the only large jet routinely certified for London City Airport operations.

The Falcon 2000 type rating covers all 2000-series variants. Training is available at CAE and SimuFlite Dallas for approximately $32,000. Two-crew operation is required. Existing Falcon 2000 pilots complete a 2000LXS differences course in 1–2 days.

The 2000LXS achieves approximately 4,000 NM with NBAA IFR reserves, covering Paris to New York with favourable winds, London to Dubai, or Moscow to Singapore with a single technical stop.

The Falcon 2000LXS has a slightly narrower cabin (7.5 ft vs 7.9 ft) but superior short-field performance and better fuel efficiency. For operators who regularly use short or mountain airfields, the 2000LXS's steep-approach certification is a decisive advantage the Challenger 650 cannot match.

Variable costs run approximately $3,000–$3,500/hr. Annual fixed costs for a two-pilot crew and FalconCare maintenance typically total $550,000–$700,000. At 350 hours/year, total annual cost is approximately $1.6M–$1.95M.
